Clients have the legal and ethical right to confidentiality. This means the information shared in therapy will be kept within the context of therapy, except where law or ethics mandates otherwise (as will be discussed in your initial assessment). You are expected to pay for counseling at the time of your session. The fee for a 50 minute session is $175. I accept cards, and as applicable, HSA and FSA cards.
I do not accept insurance at this time. Although I am not on any insurance panels, I will be happy to provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance company, at your request.
This depends on what you would like to accomplish through the therapy process, and what you are struggling with. Therapy should remain goal-focused, so it should be clear to both of us when you are achieving your goals. I reserve the right to give you my opinion about how I feel you are doing at achieving your goals.
We will usually schedule a weekly 50 minute session, at a mutually agreed upon time, unless you request to meet more or less frequently. This appointment time will be reserved for you as a standing appointment.
In the first session, we will meet each other for the first time. I will ask you questions to get to know you and to more fully understand your situation. Together, we will come up with a counseling plan. It is normal to be worried or anxious before the first session, but I want you to know that I provide a very safe, comforting counseling environment in my office.
Bring your new client forms to your first session with me.

I do not prescribe medication, but can give you a referral to a psychiatrist should you and I feel this would better your situation, in addition to therapy.
In the case that your needs are better served elsewhere, I will share my perspective on the situation with you. I will then provide you with other counseling referrals that may better serve you, if you would like them.
